 Early breakfast and depart at 0700hrs. Malindi is an idyllic seaside town that is deeply rooted in a colorful history that began in 1498 when Vasco de Gama first visited the location. From the winding streets to the centuries-old houses, you will see the story of Malindi unfold before your eyes. One of the most prominent landmarks on the tour of Malindi is the Church of St. Francis Xavier, one of the oldest in East Africa that is situated near the Vasco de Gama Pillar. You also visit the Juma Mosque and learn about the unfortunate use of the structure for slave trading until the late nineteenth century. A visit to the ruins of Gedi near Watamu takes you to the site of an abandoned coastal town that is surrounded by an intriguing mystery that lies within the remains of mosques, houses and other archaeological finds. Your touring time at Gedi includes tombs, the king’s palace, artifacts and a sunken court. With such a beautiful Malindi setting to explore, your excursion also includes a glass bottom boat ride in the Malindi Marine Park where you look into the depths of the Indian Ocean to observe marine life in a natural setting and snorkeling can also be arranged. Your spectacular day ends with a delightful and delicious lunch at Hemingways Hotel, named for one of Malindi’s most prominent beach visitors – Ernest Hemingway.
Pickup from North Coast hotels at 0600hrs and South Coast at 0700hrs. Enjoy a splendid day tour to Kisite Marine Park on a Pilli Pipa Dhow Safari.  Since 1989, the small family-owned operation has been providing visitors with more than just a boat ride to the park. Group sizes are kept small so that you will be treated to professional and individual attention throughout the excursion. The all-inclusive fee covers your equipment, guide fees, park fees, snacks, beverages and a Swahili seafood lunch on Wasini Island. The company owners and competent team, who are both certified dive instructors and First Aid instructors, are onboard during every trip so you can feel confident that you are in good hands and that your safety is always a priority. As you sail toward the park, watch for dolphin, which are seen almost every day, as well as aquatic avi-fauna. For your snorkeling adventure, qualified marine guides escort you on the water’s surface and point out the sea creatures below the surface, a superb experience, even if it is not your first time snorkeling! No matter your skill level and experience, diving in the Indian Ocean is like no other place you have been before as a new world of beautiful coral reef and marine life reveals itself just feet below the surface. To ensure fun and safety for all, Pilli Pipa limits dives to small groups as this allows you to feel the freedom of being in the underwater realm without being crowded. Seafood lunch is serviced on the Wasini Island.
Wasini Island Marine Dhow Tour helped establish the protected status of the area that is now within the boundaries of Kisite Marine Park, Kenya’s best and secluded sealife park. This excursion begins with  pickup from your beach hotel North Coast 0600hrs and South Coast 0700hrs  drive to the south coast’s Shimoni Pier that overlooks the Wasini Channel. When you arrive, you meet the experienced dive team and listen to a brief introduction about the trip and available options before setting sail in an authentic dhow. As you sail to the park site, you may spot dolphin, including the rare humpback dolphin, as well as aquatic seabirds. Once in the marine park, your adventure begins as you slowly go below the surface to enter an underwater realm that is filled with beautiful coral, fish, sea turtle and other inhabitants. After a morning of playing with the dolpins, lunch is served at the Wasini Island Restaurant and then the rest of your day may be spent with a visit to the local village by Wasini Coral gardens, or you may even rejuvenate with a nap or just relax on the beachfront and watch the ocean waves splashing against the rocky corals.
1700hrs pickup from your hotel. Traditionally used for trade on the Indian Ocean, the Arab dhow has been a long-standing presence on the East African coastal waters, and now you can enjoy an evening of sailing, dining and romantically dancing along the coastline aboard one of these historic sailing vessels. Built in 1977, the Nawalilkher, an authentic Swahili dhow, is the largest of its type on the Mombasa coast, measuring more than 75 feet long. Your evening cruise begins at the Tamarind Pier, where you board this magnificent wooden boat, and you feel as if you are stepping back in time. A kind waiter in traditional garb greets you warmly and escorts you to a private table where you sip on a house cocktail made with vodka, lime, honey, sugar and crushed ice, or if you prefer, you may also order your favorite non-alcoholic beverage or the cocktail without the alcohol. As the dhow leaves the pier at around sunset, the setting could not be more delightful. The dhow sails around Tudor Creek where you enjoy breathtaking views of Old Town and Fort Jesus before arriving at a sheltered bay where the feast begins with an initiation of a live band playing! A four-course meal of mouth-watering edible delights is served, such as grilled lobster, fish, steak and much more! When your belly is full, the waiter brings you a delicious cup of Arabica coffee or tea, or you may also request your favorite cocktail and then dance with your partner or relax while the dhow sails back to the pier. Awaiting there will be your transfer representative who will drive you back to your overnight beach hotel.
Pickup at 08hrs from South Coast and at 0900hrs from North Coast. The diversity of Mombasa is remarkable, making the city unlike any other in Kenya, with a unique cultural blend of Africans, Arabs and Asians representing many religious belief systems, including Christian, Muslim, Buddhist and Hindu. Touring the city not only allows you to see the architecture and learn about the cultures, but you also gain a deep understanding of the historical foundation of the ethnic diversity that makes Mombasa one of the most interesting destinations in Africa, such as how Afro-Asians and Afro-Arabs including the Swahilis have been living on the coast of East Africa for more than 500 years. Stops on the trip include local bazaars, Fort Jesus, visits to the handicraft carvers and the Mackinnon Market. The first stop on the excursion, Fort Jesus, was built in 1593 based on designs by an Italian architect and engineer named Joao Batista Cairato. Originally used by the Portuguese, the imposing structure rests upon a coral ridge at the entrance of the old town harbor, and its strategic location has resulted in many battles for its control. The site has also been used as soldier barracks and a prison before being obtained by the Trustees of the Kenya National Museum in 1958, and the on-site museum was opened in 1962. After the fort, your  guide leads you into alleys of Old Town, the original Mombasa city that was built in the 13th century and still maintains many significant architectural features of the time, such as filigree timber balconies, beautifully carved wooden doors, Indian and colonial designs and more than 20 mosques, and in 1985, the area received protected status as a conservation project to preserve the historically significant buildings. Thereafter, your tour guide then takes you to Mackinnon Market and the shops on Langoni Road where you find a fascinating variety of goods including produce, such as fruits and vegetables from local farms, meats, textiles and even some unexpected items, both local and international, such as safari shoes by Bata, pseudo designer label jeans and unbranded clothing from western countries. Lunch will be served at Oceanic Restaurant and the tour will end with a visit to Bamburi Haller Park to feed the animals before drop off to your hotel.
Pickup 0800hrs from South Coast and 0900hrs from North Coast Hotels and the tour is a lesser of the full day and has no lunch and only the town center attractions are visited including Hindu Temple, Mama Ngina Drive, Elephant Tusks (Pembe za Ndovu), Mackinnon Market, Old Town and Fort Jesus and drop off to the hotel in time for lunch.
